I just did this on my 19 year old Jetta and don’t know what I would have down without it. The cables on mine had frayed and wound up around stuff so when in cane out the door I couldn’t really look and copy. Luckily I found this video and was able to install the repair kit. Still the best option as it saves you from having to drill out rivets from the rails or speaker’s.

Place the reel on the reel socket, yes great ,but you didn’t show us doing that bit now did you. The MOST CRUCIAL part and you skipped over it. What was the magic you were hiding or was it just to tricky to dare show. These postings are supposed to be helpful you know, not confusing.

As per other comments, getting the cable to sit on its spool AND in the correct position has been missed off. I have up after 2 hours and can only liken it to trying to do a rubik's cube. Blindfolded. With one hand tied behind your back. Gave up and bought a whole new regulator

There is a problem with the way you put the cables, the long cable will press short cable if you do not believe see these two videos: for left side ua-cam.com/video/GJzjDr9-_XI/v-deo.html 9:45 and second video right side ua-cam.com/video/wqhf1LwscYc/v-deo.html 9:58, if you left short cable the window press it and do not down

Hi. I appreciate your work, useful for me to understand the way the cables must be reinstalled. However, I have to say that it's very difficult for any beginner to arrange those two cables. Their lenght is calculated at the limit and it took me like one hour to do this part. Two men work anyway. Thanks again!

Very helpful, but one cable is longer than the other. Does the longer cable attach to the left of right? At the moment I have the longer cable attached to the left one, the longer one is black.

Hopeless video, every time you're following where the cables go, you get some bloody stupid text in screen telling you the obvious! Then when you want to see the complicated bit of applying tension it just past it.

Sailing legend is quite correct, the hardest part has been left out. video is useless without showing the struggle it is to get everything strung correctly, AND not twisting the cables to fuck on the drum. bet she had fun doing this, that's why it's been left off !!
